Det 726 – Supports Operation Troop Appreciation

Military Life in Combat

We have now made Operation Troop Appreciation an official charity of Marine Corps League Inc, South Hills Detachment 726. We will be working to help raise money, support their work effort and other activities in an effort to help there cause.

If you don’t know about Operation Troop Appreciation let me tell you a little about them.

Operation Troop Appreciation was founded by Kristen Holloway from a personal project in 2004 in an effort to provide Under Armour® t-shirts to a local Pennsylvania National Guard platoon (1/107 FA, Alpha Company 759 MP) of 38 soldiers deployed in Iraq. From there it expanded out to an incredible organization that has been help our Troops in combat.

Their Mission:

  • Contribute to the safety, mission effectiveness, morale, and well-being of our deployed troops.
  • Provide a united front of support for their selfless service and daily sacrifices.

They were founded out of patriotism and respect for our armed forces. They provide “wish lists” for entire troop units. They send items our troops request that:

  • Contribute to their safety and mission effectiveness.
  • Improve their living conditions
  • Boost their morale

There staff is 100% volunteer and they are a non-profit 501(c)(3), non-partisan, non-poliitical charity.

98.5% of every dollar they spend directly supports our troops in the field!
